This past summer, [[Marg->Marg(Into)]] and [[Henry->Henry(Intro)]] celebrated there 5th anniversary. Henry's parents thought that a trip out to High Top Trail would be the perfect way to celebrate.
Henry is a an environmental professor at a school located in the city. He was originally from an even smaller town right outside of Denver, Colorado. He moved to the big city for college and has been there ever since.
Marg is a white collar defense attorney. If she's not deep into case work, she is doing something she enjoys around the city. She has been there ever since she was a little girl so she knows all of the good spots.

Henry's parents provided all transportation to and from the trail. All that Marg and Henry have to do is enjoy themselves. When they arrive, Henry hops out of the bus and eagerly heads up the path. I hope we have everything. Knowing Henry, he has most definetly forgotten something.
Speaking of forgetting things, I meant to call Jean the receptionist before I left to forward my calls to Dennis. Now there will be a whole day of unproductive work.
Great.

Wow, look at all of the trees and leaves and rocks and real nature. It sure is good to get out of the city.

As she finishes tying her shoes, she gets up to leave but quickly notices that Henry had forgotten the camera. [[She->MargPage3.2]] grabs the camera and shouts out to Henry. "Aren't you forgetting something?"
But [[Henry->HenryPage3.1]] is too far ahead to hear her. [[Marg->MargPage3.1]] reluctantly heads after him.
Before the trip Henry and Marg did some research on The High Top Trail and found out about a beautiful waterfall. Marg insisted that they find it so they can get a picture in front of it.

Not far into the woods they run into a young woman in her early 20’s. Her name is Sarah. [[Sarah->Sarah4.1]] sees that Marg and Henry have a map and asks the two if they know which way she needs to go in order to find the famous waterfall. [[Henry->Henry4.1]] tells her that they are headed there as well so she should join them.
The three of them continue on the path. It turns out that
[[Sarah->Sarah4.2]] is from the same city as the couple. She needed a break from the city and a friend had suggested she come here to get some fresh air and see the beautiful waterfall.

Suddenly, two young men who look exactly alike run up to the group. At first, [[Sarah->Sarah5.1]], [[Henry->Henry5.1]], and [[Marg->Marg5.1]] are confused about where the twins just came from. They hadn’t noticed anyone around them.
The guys quickly introduce themselves. Their names are Jake and Justin. They explain that they seem to have lost the path to the waterfall so when they saw that the three of them had a map they ran over to see if they could take a look at it.
Once again, Henry told them to join their group and they could all travel to the waterfall together.

[[Marg->Marg7.1]]: So how long do you expect it’ll take to make it to the falls?

[[Henry->Henry7.1]]: I’m glad you did too! The more the merrier.
[[Sarah->Sarah7.1]]: I agree, I love meeting new people. This will be fun!
As they make their way along the path they notice the clouds are looking a bit dark.
Justin: I know I’m not the weatherman but I was a boyscout for 8 years and I think we better call it a day and set up our tents before it begins to rain.
[[Marg->Marg7.2]]: Good idea! I do not want to get wet. My hair will look like a lion’s mane.

Marg: I’m just saying.

The five of them start setting up their tents just in time. Suddenly a loud boom of thunder shakes the ground, followed by flashes of lightning that radiate the sky. [[Justin->Justin8.1]] and [[Jake->Jake8.1]] have a tent that fits 8 people. It was the only one they had at home. Everyone is a bit frightened so they all decide to sleep in the twin’s tent and put all of their backpacks in Sarah’s tent. The rain turns into a downpour. The five of them notice that some water is starting to seep in through the corners of their tent. They worry that their belongings in Sarah’s tent will get wet but none of them want to venture outside into the downpour of rain to go check.

They slowly venture on through the heat. Getting hungry they stop to see what food they have left to eat. [[Henry->Henry13.1]] and Marg had only brought peanut butter, a loaf of bread, some water, and fruit to last them for the trip. Only expecting it to take a day and a half, the two didn’t think to bring extra food. So when [[Marg->Marg13.1]] accidentally left their loaf of bread slightly open the night before, the rain made got to it and made it into soggy mush. [[Sarah->Sarah13.1]] was in the same boat. It must be a city person thing. She only expected to be hiking for one day and one night. It seems as if [[Justin->Justin13.1]] and [[Jake->Jake13.1]] were the only two who had more than granola bars and fruit left to eat. Continuing on they reach the lake. It’s a lot larger than they expected. They realize that if they want to continue in the direction they believe leads to the waterfall, they’ll have to cross the lake. If they decide to go all the way around the lake they risk getting even more lost in the wrong direction, with no food, as well as losing any hope they have of seeing the waterfall. [[Henry->Henry17.1]]: Why not, Marg? We don’t have enough food to last us much longer. I know you don’t like to swim because it “will turn your hair into a lion’s mane” but you need to suck it up. No one here cares what you look like.
[[Marg->Marg17.1]]: It’s not about my hair! I can’t swim. I’ve just always used my hair as an excuse. It’s embarrassing. I’m an adult...I should know how to swim by now.

[[Justin->Justing18.1]]: Go grab that rope you thought was a stick. You can hold onto one end and I’ll hold onto the other end, that way you’ll feel better about swimming across. All you have to do is doggy paddle while holding onto the rope. I won’t let anything happen to you.
Marg agrees to swim. She runs back to get the rope. Swimming across the lake proves to be quite the challenge as [[Marg->Marg18.1]] cries the entire way across. It takes her a minute or two before really figuring out how to master the doggy-paddle. As they get close to reaching the other side, [[Henry->Henry18.1]] claims that he hears something in the distance. No one believes him until a few minutes later when they arrive on land.

Marg: What is that? Could it be…?
Henry: I told you guys! I think it’s the waterfall!
They walk for a couple minutes when suddenly they are stopped in their tracks. The most breath-taking waterfall lies right before their eyes. It’s in that moment that all the fear, exhaustion, and frustration that had been consuming each of them seemed as if it had never happened.
Marg: Henry, you have the best parents. Remind me to thank them when I get home.

I. NEED. FOOD. Henry better take me out for a full course meal at a nice restaurant when we get out of miserable place.

<p>
A LAKE! Now we’re talking! I’m about to go spear me some fish!
[[Leave Justins's thoughts->page 15]]

<br />
<br />
<br />
<p>
This is the one time that I wish I had gotten out of the city more and found someplace to swim.
I can in no way get in that water. I’ll drown and embarrass myself in front of everyone! I can’t tell them that I can’t swim!
[[Leave Marg's thoughts->page 16]]
</p><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<p>
Okay, why does Marg have to have a problem with everything? I don’t care what she wants at this point. We are all swimming across that lake. If she doesn’t want to then she can walk around the lake by herself and hope that she catches up with us on the other side. She’s being ridiculous.
[[Leave Sarah's thoughts->page 17]]

<br />
<br />
<p>
So this is my life...why can’t Marg just agree with something or at least not agree but just take one for the team and come along. Hmmm, I don’t believe I’ve ever even seen her get in any body of water…that’s weird. Wonder why I never noticed that.
[[Leave Henry's thoughts->page 17]]

<br />
<p>
Haha oh man, it really never ends with this lady. I have an idea! This problem is definitely something we can get past. Seriously, what would these people do if I wasn’t here?

<br />
<br />
<p>
I’m going to drown, I’m going to drown, I’m going to drown! Why did I agree to this?! Henry, I know I’ve been a pest but I love you! I hope I don’t get bitten by a big fish! Does the doggy-paddle mean I look like a dog right now because in that case maybe drowning would be better than dying of embarrassment. Are we almost to the other side?
[[Leave Marg's thoughts->page 18]]
</p><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<p>
I definitely hear something! Please be the waterfall! I’m going to be so happy if we get to see the waterfall today and I know it’ll make Marg happy as well. She’s going to need that after going through this “traumatizing” experience right now.
[[Leave Henry's thoughts->page 18]]
</p><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<p>
Okay, they’re not going to budge. I guess I’ll just tell them the truth. I’m so embarrassed!

I am really glad that I went on this trip and so happy that we all meet eachother!
